Area businesses and nonprofits can spend an hour on May 6 or 8 and learn how to start preparing their workplaces for flu pandemics.
The BEP Institute, an educational and networking organization for business emergency planning, announced three new times for the free seminar:
* 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, Corporate College West (Westlake)
* Noon Wednesday, May 6, COSE offices, Public Square (Downtown)
* 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, Corporate College East (Warrensville Hts.)
It’s not time to panic or to worry. Recent news of N1H1 approaching pandemic status serves as a great reminder to all of us in business that we need to be prepared for all sorts of disruption, said Ann M. Gynn, executive director of the BEP Institute.
She continued, What would a company do if 20 to 40 percent of their employees couldn’t come into work? What if schools closed or public transportation stopped running? Those all are possibilities in a pandemic flu situation.
